Georgia's new DUI law that went into effect July 1st, 2008 for all cases made that day or after has new provisions for clinical evaluation and treatment for alcohol or drugs as needed. These are now mandatory. Also going to the risk reduction program is mandatory and this doesn't matter if you're an out-of-state driver or a Georgia driver, as you are going to have to do these things. Many times if you have problems like this you can get the edge on the case by starting early on some things, even if you're going to fight your case. We many times tell people to go ahead and get clinically evaluated and go to the risk reduction school.

Even if we go to trial, we don’t want to be standing in front of the judge, if we happen to lose and the judge asks what have you done in this case since it started to deal with your alcohol issue? If you say nothing, especially as a repeat offender, I can tell you where you are going to be the rest of that day and many more afterwards. You're going to be in the local jail. When you come to a DUI specialist, you must find out how to approach the case. Sometimes that means starting things early and sometimes no. We look at each and every case and decide how to approach it on an individual basis. Ask for your free interview and we will evaluate your case and get back with you as soon as possible.
