In almost every case we have, the prosecutor will make some type of offer along the way. It might be an offer to plead to DUI. It might be an offer to reduce the case. Whatever it is, we are required by the state bar rules to communicate that to you and let you have the choice of what to do with that offer. You may not like the offer, but that's not the point. The point of it is we have to tell you about it. If you want to discuss it we will.

We may not recommend that you take the offer, but we're going to tell you. If you don't take the offer and you make a counteroffer. That gets rid of the original offer. It's called a counteroffer. There is no longer the offer from the prosecutor if you reject what they first put on the table. We'll go over these things with you and let you make an informed decision and tell you the pluses, the minuses, and what you may expect if it goes to trial.
