Our Firm’s Relationship with the Judicial System

Criminal trial practice for an attorney is built on relationships. Some of those relationships pertain to court personnel that work in the court system. Some of those relationships relate to prosecutors, police officers, the state’s expert witnesses. All of these people play a role in the case. We even work hard to know the names and relationships of the people at the clerk’s office. These people can be very helpful to us when we are trying to get documents filed or get copies of things that you need for work or for court. So this is not a business that you do and go home. This is a business that you live with. So those relationships and the contact that we have made over the years, in my case thirty years, has been very valuable to our firm. That’s one of the differences, I think, between someone who does this part time and someone who does it everyday.
