People ask me sometimes should I take the reckless driving, should I take this other type of disposition other than a DUI. The thing I usually tell them is that it comes down to a personal decision at some point. A DUI has mandatory jailtime. A DUI has mandatory license suspension. A DUI can block you from many jobs that reckless driving or another disposition will not. The choice of whether you take a reduced plea is completely up to you. I will go through any type of punishment options and any type of long term record problems that you may have but the final decision will be yours.

The thing about a reckless driving disposition is that you keep your license, typically there is no more jail involved and you will be able to move forward without a DUI on your record. That is the most important thing people try to avoid when they come see us. So if an alternative plea is offered to you, you’ll be the one that makes the decision. It will not be forced upon you, you won’t have to take it and we’ll tell you the ramifications if you do.
