In some cases that we get we have an investigator that we suggest to you that we use for the case. Why do we use an investigator and not just send you out with a camera? Well first off this person can measure the scene, photograph it, and come to court as a witness to testify on your behalf. If we let you do it you're going to have to take the stand and that's not good.

We don't even want anyone who was in the car with you to be that person because if we put him or her on the stand to identify the film footage or the photographs for the measurements that were taken. He or she can be questioned about how much old Johnny had to drink that night when you were out together. We use an independent person who's a police officer and who has that credibility built in to bring them to court. It's only a few hundred dollars in most cases and it can be the winning ticket for your case.
