We're going to ask you, “What’s your prior history?” The worst thing you can do is not tell us your prior history and suddenly find out about it when we’re standing in court. When that happens not only do we look bad but all of the things we’re trying to do sort of disappear. We lose credibility because we turn to you to say, “What's going on here? What do you mean you had three DUI’s in Texas that you didn’t bother to tell us about.”

Realize that our job is tough enough without having a client misleading us. If you can’t talk to your lawyer and tell them your true record, how do you think we're ever going to do the job for you? We encourage you to come forward with your history. If there's been some type of glitch that your license is in a different name or is now or was then, you better believe that fingerprints will out you every time. It happened just this week on another case. Don't sit there and tell us you don't have a record. If you do because it's going to come back to haunt you and you don't want to be standing in front of a judge with that type of history and not telling us.
