Lance Patrick is a Georgia native who began working in the legal field after graduating from college as a probation officer with the Cobb County Sentence Enforcement Unit in Marietta GA. Dealing with the vagaries of probation and accountability to the felony or misdemeanor court system, he learned a great deal about judges and their different courtroom styles during this first career step.

After 6 years of assisting the criminal courts in Cobb County, Lance applied for and was accepted to Emory University School of Law. This was step 2 in his legal career path.

Most of Mr. Patrick's law practice since passing the Georgia Bar exam has focused on criminal law. He worked as a Staff Attorney for the Superior Court Judges within the Appalachian Circuit in north Georgia for a while. Later, he became an Assistant District Attorney in the Appalachian Judicial Circuit, handling felony cases during most of that employment.

From there Lance went to work for the Solicitor-General of Fulton County State Court in downtown Atlanta. This exposure to traffic crimes made him an ideal candidate for our law firm, since roughly 50% of our law office's clients' criminal misdemeanor or felony cases in Atlanta involve traffic crimes in Georgia.

That job involved prosecuting DUI, leaving the scene of an accident (hit and run), simple possession of marijuana, reckless driving, domestic battery, shoplifting, racing, and dozens of other crimes that occurred in Fulton County, GA. In addition, Lance was now the prosecuting attorney overseeing probation violation petitions in his assigned courtrooms.

Having prosecuted both felony and misdemeanor cases in Step 3 of his legal path, and after acting as a probation officer (which is aligned with the prosecution), this exposure to the criminal justice system was instrumental in preparing him to know the "ins and outs" of defending those charged with crimes in the Peach State.

So, step 4 of Mr. Patrick's legal career is to now use that accumulated knowledge of Georgia criminal law to assist those accused citizens who seek aggressive and thorough defense of the charges against them working as an associate with Kohn & Yager LLC. His extensive knowledge of probation violations in Georgia will make him the "go to" lawyer at our firm for these important cases.

★★★★★
Mr. Larry Kohn could not have been more helpful. I sent him a message for a free consultation, and unfortunately my case had to be handled in another state. But he completely walked me through everything I needed to do, and even offered to assist the lawyer I did find in Virginia should they need help with my case. Jamie V.

Mr. Kohn is just amazing. He is truthful and realistic when explaining potential outcomes of your case and doesn’t force you to hire him or anything. When I met him, he went through everything about the case and ways to fight it off first before even telling me about his services. He got my case dismissed and kept me out of a lot of potential problems with school applications and future job opportunities. I highly recommend him to anyone. Anurag G.
